Personal Care & Toiletries: Biodegradable camp soap, towels, prescription medicines, midge repellent, and sun protection.
Lunch & Speciality Beverages
Daily Packed Lunches: Not included as standard, but can be arranged and pre-ordered through our camp crew.
Alcoholic & Soft Drinks: Alcoholic beverages and canned soft drinks are not provided, however guests are welcome to bring their own (we have cooler/fridge space available at base camp).
Meals Out / Pub Visits: Any optional pub lunches, cafe stops along the trail, or restaurant dinners in local villages.
Travel, Insurance & Transfers
Travel Insurance (Mandatory): Personal travel, medical, and trip cancellation insurance covering trekking/hiking activities in the UK.
Travel to Trail Start: Transport to the starting point in Milngavie (Note: Complimentary local pickup from Glasgow can be arranged).
Onward Travel from Finish: Travel after completing the route in Fort William (Note: Return vehicle transport back to Glasgow is available for an additional fee).

West Highland Way: Expanded Daily Trail Breakdown
Day 1: Milngavie to Drymen | Distance: 20 km (12.5 mi) | Elevation: +150 m / -150 m | Time: 4.5–5 hours | Terrain: Gentle country lanes, disused railway paths, and rolling woodland paths. | Highlights: Launching your journey at the official WHW obelisk; traversing Mugdock Country Park; passing the historic Glengoyne Distillery beneath Dumgoyne hill; and witnessing the transition from lowland farmland into the rugged Scottish countryside with vistas of the Campsie Fells.
Day 2: Drymen to Rowardennan | Distance: 24 km (15 mi) | Elevation: +550 m / -550 m | Time: 6 hours | Terrain: Forest tracks, steep summit trail over Conic Hill, and undulating lochside paths. | Highlights: Ascending Conic Hill for a panoramic perspective of Loch Lomond and the Highland Boundary Fault; a waterside pause in the village of Balmaha; and tracking through oak woodlands with Ben Lomond looming in the distance.
Day 3: Rowardennan to Inverarnan | Distance: 22.5 km (14 mi) | Elevation: +300 m / -300 m | Time: 6–7 hours | Terrain: Technical, uneven lochside single-track with exposed roots and rocky scrambles. | Highlights: Navigating the remote eastern shores; the falls of Inversnaid; exploring the crags of Rob Roy’s Cave; views of the Arrochar Alps; and a celebratory evening at the historic Drovers Inn.
Day 4: Inverarnan to Tyndrum | Distance: 19.5 km (12 mi) | Elevation: +400 m / -200 m | Time: 5 hours | Terrain: Wide glen paths, old military roads, and open pasture along the River Falloch. | Highlights: The immediate grandeur of Beinglas Falls; following the white water of the Falloch; the ancient ruins of St Fillan’s Priory; and trekking through Strathfillan beneath the high peaks of Ben More.
Day 5: Tyndrum to Kingshouse (Glencoe) | Distance: 30 km (18.5 mi) | Elevation: +550 m / -550 m | Time: 7–8 hours | Terrain: Open moorland tracks and exposed cobblestone parliamentary roads. | Highlights: Rounding the Horseshoe Curve under Beinn Odhar; the towering presence of Beinn Dorain; crossing the Rannoch Moor wilderness; and arriving at the Kingshouse with views of Buachaille Etive Mòr. | Flexibility: With road access nearby, our crew can adapt this stretch, breaking up these stages to match your pace.
Day 6: Kingshouse to Kinlochleven | Distance: 14.5 km (9 mi) | Elevation: +400 m / -600 m | Time: 4–5 hours | Terrain: Steep mountain pass ascending to 550 m, followed by a long gravel descent. | Highlights: Conquering the Devil’s Staircase—the route’s high point—for expansive vistas of Glencoe and the Black Mount; and the alpine descent towards the Blackwater Reservoir.
Day 7: Kinlochleven to Fort William | Distance: 24 km (15 mi) | Elevation: +550 m / -550 m | Time: 6–7 hours | Terrain: High mountain passes through Lairigmor, forestry tracks, and a flat finish. | Highlights: Ascending into the isolated Lairigmor valley; passing ruined Highland crofts; the dramatic reveal of Ben Nevis; and reaching the finish at the bronze statue in Gordon Square.
