G-UP TERMS AND CONDITIONS

  1. About G-UP
These Terms and Conditions govern all bookings, supported training runs, custom expeditions, and services provided by G-UP (“we,” “us,” or “our”). By requesting a booking, transferring payment, or participating in a G-UP supported session, you (“the client,” “participant,” or “athlete”) agree to be bound by these terms.

  2. Booking Confirmation and Payment

  • All bookings are made via direct email communication and confirmed upon receipt of bank transfer payment (or deposit, as agreed in writing).

  • A booking is not formally secured until G-UP confirms receipt of payment in writing via email.

  • You must be at least 18 years of age to book a G-UP experience, or accompanied by a parent or legal guardian.

     3.   Cancellation, Refund, and Deposit Terms

  • While we recognize that physical setbacks, injuries, or personal circumstances can disrupt your plans, G-UP must account for pre-arranged logistics. Since expenses such as crew coordination, fuel staging, and campsite reservations are non-recoverable, the following policy is in effect:

  • Non-Refundable Deposit: A non-refundable deposit of £250.00 GBP per person is required at the time of booking to secure your dates. This deposit covers upfront administrative costs, land access fees, and campsite reservations.

  • Balance Payment: The remaining balance is due 60 days prior to the start date of your booking.

  • Cancellations 30+ days before start date: The £250.00 GBP per person non-refundable deposit is retained. Any additional balance paid will be refunded in full.

  • Cancellations 15 to 30 days before start date: The non-refundable deposit is retained, and 50% of the remaining balance is non-refundable.

  • Cancellations less than 14 days before start date: The total booking cost is non-refundable.

  • Transferring your booking: If you cannot attend, you may transfer your booking (including deposit) to another runner or adventurer at no extra charge, provided they meet our health and fitness requirements and complete our medical declaration prior to the start date.

  • Cancellations by G-UP: In the rare event G-UP must cancel a service due to extreme weather, safety risks, or crew emergencies, you will receive a 100% refund (including your deposit) or a credit to reschedule for a future date.

  1. Weather and Route Adjustments

  • Scottish mountain and trail weather is inherently unpredictable. G-UP reserves the right to alter routes, adjust timings, or modify camp locations on short notice to ensure the safety of participants and crew.

  • Route variations or modifications due to weather, land access, or safety considerations do not entitle participants to a refund.

  1. Participant Responsibilities and Health

  • You are responsible for ensuring you possess a suitable level of physical fitness and health appropriate for the distance, elevation, and terrain of the chosen route or training block.

  • You must complete our Safety and Medical Declaration prior to the start of any supported run or expedition, disclosing any pre-existing medical conditions, allergies, or injuries.

  • Compulsory gear lists provided by G-UP must be adhered to. G-UP reserves the right to deny participation to anyone who lacks essential safety kit (e.g., waterproofs, emergency blankets, suitable trail footwear).

  1. Code of Conduct and Land Access

  • G-UP operates strictly in accordance with the Scottish Outdoor Access Code (Leave No Trace principles).

  • Participants are expected to respect local landowners, wildlife, fellow trail users, and G-UP crew members. Unsafe, disruptive, or abusive behavior will result in immediate removal from the event without refund.

  1. Pay-It-Forward and Gifted Experiences

  • Revenue generated from paid bookings helps support G-UP's Pay-It-Forward initiative, funding supported trail experiences, community race support, and winter indoor training for others.

  • Gifted experiences or sponsored support sessions hold no cash value, are non-transferable, and cannot be redeemed for cash refunds.

  1. Governing Law
These Terms and Conditions are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of Scotland. Any disputes arising in connection with these terms shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the Scottish courts.
